Define the brand’s version of luxury

Luxury is not a single lighting setup or a slow camera move. Decide what this particular film should communicate: workmanship, intimacy, heritage, precision or an unusual way of living. Those are different creative directions and need different images.

Choose a small set of visual principles before production. They might describe the distance from the subject, the pace of the film, the materials in the setting and the role of human presence. Treat these as choices for the brief, not universal rules for premium brands.

Give details a reason to appear

For a leather object, a film might follow a hand across a fastening, reveal its construction and then show how the object is used. This is an illustrative treatment. Its purpose is to connect a detail to an experience rather than accumulate unrelated close-ups.

Test reflections, surface texture and color under the intended lighting. Agree which product details must remain exact. Keep reference material available through retouching, compositing and grading so the final images can be checked against the actual item.

Use restraint with intention

Leave enough time for the viewer to understand a gesture or material. Build rhythm through changes in scale, sound and movement. A quiet film still needs progression.

If generated imagery is included, review it against the same brief and accuracy requirements. A plausible-looking seam, label or reflection may still be incorrect. Product approval should be based on the delivered image, not how convincing the generation prompt sounds.
